What I can say here is that this seed collection has been evolving for about 25 years, with a focus on small scale, self-sufficient approach using organic growing methods. We know the quality of our seeds as we rely upon them ourselves to increase our self sufficiency.

They are ALL potentially open pollinated (we don’t isolate plants using structures or covers, so the ‘out-breeders’/promiscuous crops can potentially cross pollinate. The question then arises – why do we let them cross? We rarely buy in seed, and have good results even with a few odd crosses here and there, notably the squash (hence the names!). The Squash we grow are incredible. We always have huge yields, and they are all the dense winter type. We can store them regularly over 1 year from point of harvest. The vast majority of these seeds are “in-breeders” and so open pollination is not an issue.

Also a note on the beans – We grow beans both for the fresh pods and for the dried seed, for stews etc, but they can all be used interchangeably if you like! There are some that are better than others for the different purposes so we have separated them out on the list below.

Thanks for taking the time to read, and thanks for your orders!
